#ERATE - USAC's Schools and Libraries News Brief for this Week - April 19, 2019

TIP OF THE WEEK

Monitor the contact information you provided on your FY2019 FCC Form 471. USAC will use this information to contact you if we have any questions or need more information about your application to complete our review process.

Commitments for Funding Year 2018

Funding Year 2018. USAC released FY2018 Wave 54 Funding Commitment Decision Letters (FCDLs) on April 18. As of April 19, FY2018 commitments total over $2.19 billion.

On the date that FCDLs are issued, you can access your FCDL notification from the Notifications section of your landing page in the E-rate Productivity Center (EPC).

May Webinar Reminder

Join us on Wednesday, May 15, 2019 for our E-rate Program webinar on the FCC Form 486 and the Children's Internet Protection Act (CIPA). In this webinar, we will explain the purpose of the form, when to file the form, and the consequences of filing the form late. We will also cover CIPA compliance and the FCC Form 479 filing requirement for consortium members. Click here to register.

You will be able to ask questions using the Questions box in the webinar platform. USAC staff members will respond verbally to questions of general interest at the end of each webinar.

Registration is also available on the Webinars page. If you register but are unable to attend, you can click the registration link to watch a recording of the presentation. If you missed the Program Integrity Assurance (PIA) webinar on April 17, you can go to our Online Learning Library to watch a recording.

URL Changes to Legacy Functions

For network security purposes, we are changing the web addresses for some of the legacy forms and tools that users currently access on the slforms.universalservice.org domain. We will automatically redirect users to the new address for each form or tool, but we suggest that you update any bookmarks that you have created for these forms and tools.

Earlier this week, we changed the web addresses for the following four legacy tools:

  • FCC Form 470 Download Tool – You can use this tool to search for FCC Forms 470 filed before EPC was available, including some FY2016 forms and all forms for earlier funding years.

  • FCC Form 471 Status Tool – You can use this tool to find the status of FCC Forms 471 completed or certified for FY2015 and earlier by a specific billed entity number (BEN) in a single funding year.

  • Search for BEN Information Tool – You can use this tool to search for information on BENs by entity type, full or partial name, zip code, or state/territory. This tool contains some legacy information that may not be available in the Entity Download Tool.

  • SPIN Search Tool – You can use this tool to search for information on Service Provider Identification Numbers (SPINs) by name or SPIN. This tool contains some legacy information that may not be available in the Service Provider Download Tool.

We will continue to provide information on updated web addresses for legacy forms and tools as these changes are implemented.
